Indian Summer Programme Announced

The organisers of Indian Summer, one of the highlights of last year’s Scottish musical calendar, have unveiled the first wave of their 2007 programme. The Flaming Lips (pictured), Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, The Rapture and Annuals are among the bands appearing at the event, which takes place at Glasgow’s Victoria Park on Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 July. www.indiansummerglasgow.com
Acclaimed trombonist and composer Dennis Rollins has been selected as Guest Programme Director of this year’s Glasgow International Jazz Festival. Rollins, whose award-winning band Badbone & Co won the prestigious BBC Jazz Award for Best Band last year, said he was ‘delighted and proud to be associated with a jazz festival of this stature.’ The festival runs from Friday 22 June-Sunday 1 July. www.jazzfest.co.uk
Scottish Screen is heading to Santa Monica, California, to promote Scottish film talent at the Association of Film Commissioners International (AFCI) Locations Trade Show, one of the biggest showcases for the film and television industry in the world. Belle Doyle, the agency’s Location Department Manager will be staffing the Scottish stand, which will feature Oscar-winners The Queen and The Last King of Scotland, both of which were partly shot north of the border, in its presentation.
