Charlize Theron unimpressed with Oscar
Charlize Theron says being an Oscar winner has made absolutely no difference to her outlook on life
Charlize Theron doesn't get obsessed about her Oscar because it "doesn't vacuum".
The 33-year-old actress was awarded the Best Actress Academy Awards in 2004 for her portrayal of serial killer Aileen Wuornos in 'Monster' but admits she more pressing things to think about than the accolade.
Asked if she agreed with fellow winner Gwyneth Paltrow who said the award means nothing to her in her day-to-day life, Charlize replied: "Look it doesn't vacuum, it doesn't wash the dishes, it doesn't do stuff like that, but it's definitely an honour."
The star recently admitted she finds it hard to believe she is one of the few women to be given the prestigious accolade.
She said: "Every time I see the Oscars on the television I can't believe it. You realise there have only been 81 actresses who have been given this honour. That's huge. So I never thought that that would happen and the fact that it happened was really special."
