● Evening Concert: Brodsky Quartet As part of the ongoing celebrations in honour of the 200th anniversary of Mendelssohn’s birth, the award-winning Brodsky Quartet play his second string quartet just a couple of days prior to the actual birthday date. RSAMD, Glasgow, Sat 28 Feb.
● The Rime of the Ancient Mariner In a collaboration between art students and music students, the Queen’s Hall is transformed into the setting for an oceanic experience as Samuel Taylor Coleridge’s epic sea voyage is retold through animation and a new score by Dee Isaacs. ● Meadows Chamber Orchestra Giving opportunity to emerging young talent, Meadows’ guest artist is soprano Kirstin Sharpin, who sings the luscious Four Last Songs by Richard Strauss, while receiving its world premiere is Fantasy Variations, written by Lliam Paterson last year while he was still a pupil at St Mary’s Music School.
