Secret Machines - Secret Machines

For a few months, four years ago, Secret Machines were pretty much the best band in the known universe, blowing minds and melting fillings with the hypnotic, silvery glam space walks of their debut Now Here is Nowhere.
That album remains a cosmic beauty; bold, brave and cocky, and insanely, inanely catchy. This, their third album, struggles to get out from that shadow.
The band may have lost founding member Ben Curtis but retain the bravado and bombast of previous outings, and understand the value of taking their time to build a song for six minutes before sending it into interstellar overdrive. A grand trip.
