Lance Armstrong is to become a father for the fourth time.
The cycling champion - who has a nine-year-old son Luke and seven-year-old twins Isabella and Grace with his ex-wife Kristin Richards - has announced he and girlfriend Anna Hansen are expecting their first child together.
Lance, a survivor of testicular cancer, said in a statement: "Anna and I are thrilled to confirm that we are expecting in June and our families are ecstatic and grateful. We are very much looking forward to what 2009 brings on many fronts.
"We appreciate respecting our privacy, as we are both eager to celebrate the holidays as a family."
The "surprise" pregnancy was first reported by gossip blogger Perez Hilton, who claims Lance, 37, and Anna have been dating "quietly since July".
A source told the website: "Lance and Anna met through Lance's charity work. Anna works at a non-profit organisation for cancer survivors."
Lance's three children with his ex-wife were conceived using in vitro fertilisation - a process where egg cells are fertilised by sperm outside of the womb - with Lance's sperm, which was frozen shortly after he was diagnosed with cancer.
Since splitting from Kristin, Lance has been romantically involved with a string of female stars including Sheryl Crow, Ashley Olsen and Kate Hudson.
