Scottish Chamber Orchestra: Adventurer Series Written as a tribute to the composer’s sister, who died of cancer in 1998, Rory Boyle’s new concerto for oboe, Sorella, takes the Italian translation of sister, in avoidance of any religious and medical connotations that might be associated with the English term. To be premiered by Nicholas Daniel, the oboist, who suggested that Boyle might just like to write a concerto for his instrument.
