Noel Gallagher's solo wish

Oasis guitarist Noel Gallagher has revealed he wants the band to make solo records because he thinks it will help make them stronger as a group.

Noel Gallagher wants Oasis to make solo records.

The guitarist thinks if the group - him, his brother Liam, Gem Archer, Andy Bell and Chris Sharrock - took some time away from each other to concentrate on solo material it will make them stronger as a band.

He said: "At the end of this tour, I'd like everyone to do something separately. I think it would be interesting for our fans.

"But I also think because we've ended up with this album at a place where we were working to for the last five years. It's kind of like, 'What do we do next?' Liam's always the first person to start rushing things. I think if he wants to get back in the saddle that quick, he should do it for himself. He's got tonnes and tonnes of songs."

The rocker also denied he ever saves any material he writes for Oasis to use in his own solo work.

He added: "I don't specifically put songs aside. There are songs that have just fallen by the wayside that are still great but have missed their moment. Like 'Stop The Clocks' for instance. That needs to come out soon."
