Zac Efron's strip fear
Zac Efron won't be taking over from Daniel Radcliffe in Broadway play 'Equus', in which the lead character strips off on stage, because he is not "ballsy" enough.
Zac Efron won't be starring in Broadway play 'Equus' because he is not "ballsy" enough.
The 'High School Musical' heartthrob was rumoured to be taking over from the New York show's current star, 'Harry Potter' actor Daniel Radcliffe, but insists he hasn't got the courage needed to strip off in front of a live audience.
He told French website TeeMix: "Daniel was very ballsy. Oh wow, that is the wrong choice of word for that! He is very smart. I guess that was the fastest way to do it.
"But I don't know if I would do something edgy for the sake of doing something edgy, I think as I mature, so will my roles. I think it will come with time. I'm not going to do anything drastic."
Zac, 21, recently revealed he wouldn't rule out starring in a sequel to his 2007 movie 'Hairspray', because he is a huge fan of musicals.
He said: "I love musicals! I've noticed that various movie studios want to get involved with making musicals and I think it's great. They're making a comeback and so I think there should be more in the pipeline. Any time there's a musical, I'm up for being on board. It's fun."
