Featuring Primal Scream, Rick Astley and Blossoms, The Vaccines and much more

After the gargantuan announcements of ABBA and Elton John last week, there was a risk that this round of ticketing announcements would feel like the clean-up after the big party – still welcoming a few stragglers but never quite hitting the same ecstatic heights as the night before.

Blow those thoughts from the cobwebs of your disco-addled mind, because there are some absolute doozies on sale today. Whether you're hankering after the nostalgic rock of Primal Scream, fancy the oddball combination of Rick Astley and Blossoms (no, that's not a joke) or the pure poptastic jams of The Wanted, there are plenty of events to look forward to.

All of these tickets are on sale now and most will sell out quickly. Grab them fast or miss out.

Primal Scream

They still wanna be free, they're intent on having a good time and they continue to desire maximum loadiosity. Primal Scream will play three special dates in Manchester, Glasgow and London to celebrate the 30th anniversary of their landmark album Screamadelica. The album will be played in full alongside a shedload of Gillespie and co's greatest hits. If you often find yourself yearning for the glory days of acid house, this is the gig for you.

Primal Scream will perform Screamadelica Live next year. Click here for performance dates and tickets.

Rick Astley and Blossoms

That's right, the Rickrolling guy and newest radio-friendly indie band Blossoms are teaming up to play two nights performing the songs of The Smiths, because of course they are. It would be easy to be snarky about these shows but, to the surprise of everyone, this is a collaboration that works. Astley has the bellowing baritone to give these songs the gravitas that Morrissey can't muster nowadays, and Blossoms can comfortably navigate their way around Marr's trickiest finger-picking manoeuvres. Who'd have thunk it?

Rick Astley and Blossoms will perform the songs of The Smiths for two nights in Manchester and London this October. Click here for performance dates and tickets.

Alice Cooper and The Cult

Fans of Hammer horror gore and macabre 80s rock rejoice, an arena tour for your incredibly specific tastes has arrived. Alice Cooper and The Cult will embark on a series of huge co-headliner shows across the UK in May and June 2022, playing all of their hits and featuring Cooper's trademark love of grand guignol. One for fans of the darker side of rock.

TRNSMT 2022

The 2021 edition of TRNSMT may have only been a week ago, but the long road to 2022's festival on Glasgow Green is already underway with some exciting headliner announcements. Topping the bill are The Strokes, Paolo Nutini and Lewis Capaldi, while other acts to play are beabadoobee, Foals, Fontaines D.C., Jimmy Eat World, Sigrid, The Snuts and Wolf Alice. The festival has previously weathered criticisms regarding a lack of diversity on its bill. Let's hope they improve on that for 2022 with more top-notch female acts and POC, and a bit less lad rock.

TRNSMT 2022 is will take place next July. Click here for performance dates and tickets.

Alice Cooper + The Cult

Alice Cooper pioneered a grandly theatrical brand of hard rock that was designed to shock.
