Maya Jama has signed up to be a ringside boxing presenter.
The 26-year-old TV star has penned a deal with sports streaming platform Dazn and Eddie Hearn's promotions company Matchroom which will see her co-hosting ringside alongside lead commentator Mike Costello.
Maya starts the new role from July 31 when Matchroom Fight Camp kicks off at the company's headquarters in Brentwood, Essex.
The 'Celebrity Juice' star knows that her appointment could raise some eyebrows but she insists she is a big fight fan.
She said: "I think a lot of people are going to be thinking ‘why is she presenting boxing now?’ but I’ve secretly been a big boxing fan for years. I love the sport. Me and my friends stay up until all hours of the morning to watch the fights. It’s a whole new challenge, a whole new adventure for me. Matchroom and Dazn are literally changing the game so I’m so excited to be a part of it."
Maya says presenting from ringside is as close as she wants to get to the action for now and she isn't keen on stepping inside the squared circle any time soon, although she did do kickboxing training for four years.
She added: "I’ve got so much pride that I wouldn’t ever take it on unless I was totally sure I was going to win because I don’t think I’d live down the memes of me getting beaten! So, for now, I’ll definitely stick to the presenting. Although I did used to do kickboxing for four years when I was younger so I can fly kick ... I know that’s not allowed in boxing but it might be my only weapon!"
When asked what her boxing nickname would be, she said: "Maya Jam-Her!"
