Edinburgh Castle plays host to an epic DJ set from Denis Sulta this Friday

The legendary Scottish DJ and producer will stream his first set in 18-months for free to a global audience

Known for his vivacious sound and flamboyant look, Scottish dance music staple and former Radio 1 resident, Denis Sulta, will be on hand this Friday to help us banish those Covid blues and gear up for summer in style. He'll be banging out an hour-long DJ set from the ramparts of Edinburgh Castle, which will then be streamed without charge to a worldwide audience at 7pm BST on Fri 14 May.

Glasgow native Sulta, who is performing his first set in 18-months and has played packed out dancefloors at some of the best-known clubs and festivals across the world, has this to say about this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, 'The idea of playing at Edinburgh Castle came about in early 2020, a long summer of dreaming and a lot of practicing in the hope that just MAYBE the dream might come true, and now it's finally came to fruition. I can't believe we pulled this one off. I can now say I've contributed to the most iconic landmark in my Scottish upbringing. An absolute mind-blowing moment. Thank you to all involved and here's to whatever's beyond those castle walls!'

Scotland's largest youth music brand FLY are behind this exciting, one-off set, supported by EventScotland, and they've teamed up with a selection of the biggest promoters in the US, Australia, France, Italy and more to place Scotland's dance scene firmly on the international map. This performance replaces what should have been FLY Open Air's 2021 Hopetoun House Festival and promises a joyous, upbeat mix of new, exclusive and timeless tracks from the most glorious possible setting. It could be just what's needed to get the party started.

This pre-recorded performance, produced by Ground Level Up, will be streamed at 7pm BST on Fri 14 May via Beatport's Twitch Channel, FLY's YouTube Channel FLY TV, FLY Open Air's Facebook and Denis Sulta's own Facebook.
