Kevin Bridges is poised to become a dad for the first time later this year
Kevin Bridges is set to become a dad.
The 34-year-old comedian and his wife Kerry – who tied the knot in 2019 – are expecting their first child together.
A spokesman for the couple said: "We can confirm Kevin and Kerry are expecting a child this year."
The couple are said to be "absolutely delighted" and Kevin – who has appeared on numerous panel shows over the years, including 'Would I Lie to You?' and 'Have I Got News for You' – is already looking forward to the challenge of parenthood.
A insider told The Sun on Sunday newspaper: "They are absolutely delighted and are both looking forward to parenthood.
"It’s wonderful news. They have shared it amongst close friends and family but are keeping it all very private."
A source close to the comedy star added: "It’s wonderful news."
Kevin previously admitted he thought about walking away from comedy at the age of 29.
The TV star felt burnt out and thought about quitting.
He recalled: "I just felt a bit unhappy. I had stopped enjoying it, to be honest. You don’t want to be the guy who’s annoying people. I don’t want to be on the telly all the time.
"I was just burned out. And I had nothing else going on in my life. I’d split up with my ex and I was just doing the gigs and coming back home to an empty house. I just thought: ‘Right, maybe this is the end. It’s been a great 11 years.'"
Kevin also admitted to being awkward around girls during his younger years.
He said: "Everybody’s got an optimal age and I think I was never suited to being, like, 15.
"I had mates who were just cooler. They were better at football. They were better with girls. They were more popular. Then you see them now and they’re just a bit … well, they were great at being 15, but they’re not so much now.
"I think everybody’s got a peak age – and I think I always felt a bit older."
