Jack Davenport and Lydia Leonard are reportedly in talks to star in John Morton's upcoming English-speaking version of French series 'Call My Agent!'
Jack Davenport and Lydia Leonard are reportedly set to star in the English-speaking version of 'Call My Agent!'.
The 'Pirates of the Caribbean' actor and 'Gentlemen Jack' star are both said to be in talks to appear in the upcoming adaptation of the popular French series, which focuses on a top Paris talent agency.
According to the Daily Mail newspaper's Baz Bamigboye column, 'W1A' and 'Twenty Twelve' creator John Morton is "swamped" with work on the scripts, and overseeing pre-production.
He previously said: "I’m thrilled, startled and daunted to be given the chance to re-create such a wonderful show as 'Call My Agent!' for an English language audience."
The report comes after it was revealed the original French show will return for a fifth season as well as a feature film, which surprised fans who expected the recent fourth series to be the last.
Thomas Anargyros – chief executive of Mediawan Studios – revealed the news earlier this month.
He said: "We're making great process [on the film].
"We want to produce it this year, and we’re looking to air it likely at the end of the year or early next year. And we’ll move forward with a new season for 'Call My Agent!' "
The French version has featured high-profile celebrity cameos including the likes of Sigourney Weaver, Juliette Binoche and Isabelle Huppert.
It's expected the film will go into production either by the end of 2021 or early next year, and reports suggest the story will see the characters go to New York.
The fifth series will be set after the movie, although it will be a reboot with a new cast of talent agents.
