'Love Island' star Chris Hughes feels happier since he put on weight amid the coronavirus lockdown
Chris Hughes feels happier since losing his six-pack abs and putting on weight in lockdown.
The 'Love Island' star has found it tough to stay in shape amid the coronavirus crisis, but he's actually feeling better about himself now he's carrying some extra timber.
He said: "Some days all I want to do is just eat.
"When I did that ice bath challenge I was like, ‘God, my body does not look like it did four years ago in 'Love Island'.
"But I’m happy in my own skin. It doesn’t make me any less happy with what I am now."
Chris, 28, doesn't enjoy going to the gym and even when he does go, he only spends 20 minutes on a workout.
He told The Sun newspaper's Bizarre column: "If I’ve got a holiday coming up I might get in the gym for a month beforehand.
"But I don’t really enjoy going, if I’m honest. I just occasionally set foot in there for about 20 minutes and get out."
Chris split from former Little Mix star Jesy Nelson last April, but he wasn't always able to spend much quality time with her because the pair were so busy.
He said: "If you’re both doing two different things within an industry it makes it harder to see each other at times.
"You might have a bond with somebody, so you can’t turn them down on the basis of whether they’re in the public eye or not because they could be the one for you."
Chris – who dated Jesy for 15 months – is now keen to find a new love interest, and he has teamed up with the dating app happn in a bid to find romance.
Speaking about his love life, the 'ITV Racing' co-host admitted: "I’m open to anything really."
