Stephen Mulhern would only take part on 'I'm A Celeb' if he was offered £3 million, as he hates the eating trials
Stephen Mulhern would only appear on 'I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!' for £3 million.
The 44-year-old TV presenter thinks he would struggle on the ITV game show as he has a fear of the eating challenges, and would only take part if the producers made him an offer he couldn't refuse.
He told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “I’ve never been asked in the jungle, but they know what I’m like, and I don’t know if you’re aware, but in terms of eating I’ve got a very, very plain palette and the thought of putting stuff in my mouth ... I don’t know if I could do it.
“I think that show is the only thing that could break me, because the idea of doing the stunts and the heights and the jumping out of a plane, that would have to be top dollar to even consider it.
“How much are we talking for me to do it? I can’t believe we are talking about this but how about £3 million and I’ll do it?! Alright if you can get half that I’m in!”
Stephen appears alongside 'I'm A Celeb' hosts Ant and Dec on 'Saturday Night Takeaway' and presents his own show 'In For A Penny' and 'Catchphrase'.
However, he would love to present a show like 'Noel's Christmas Presents', in which Noel Edmonds delivered special gifts to well-deserving members of the public.
Stephen explained: “I would love to do a show something a bit like 'Noel’s Christmas Presents', do you remember it? I’ll tell you why I liked it because it showed an emotive side of things and that’s what I would love to do. Or, I’d like to do something like that where actually you do see that side of me.
“I care about my family, I care about my job, I care about my friends, and I think it is always the fun side of things, which I don’t think is a bad thing but the only other thing that is missing is where people get to see the side that maybe my family or my friends get to see.”
