TV star Candice Brown has admitted she endured a difficult time in 2020
Candice Brown thinks 2020 was the "hardest" year of her life.
The 36-year-old TV star – who won the seventh series of 'The Great British Bake Off' – separated from her tree surgeon husband Liam Macaulay after less than two years of marriage, and Candice admitted she's struggled to come to terms with their split.
She reflected: "I had a very difficult year last year – the hardest of my life.
"How the f*** I’m still going, I don’t know. But it was just a lot to take in, a lot to deal with."
Candice also revealed how the coronavirus lockdown and having to close her pub has taken its toll on her mental health.
The former PE teacher told 'The Burn Chef Journal' podcast: "Mental health is something I’ve always struggled with. I also got diagnosed with ADHD, hence the disorganisation and forgetfulness."
Candice recalled dreading another lockdown at one point in the pandemic.
The TV star admitted she needs to feel busy "all the time".
She said: "On the days we were shut and towards the end of the year I said, ‘I don’t know if I can do this on my own if lockdown happens again.
"I just can’t do it. I need to be on the go all the time and that silence and darkness on top of a brain that can be quite dark anyway was a lot."
News of Candice's split from Liam was confirmed by her agent last year.
Liam – who started dating the TV personality back in 2012 – moved out of the pub where they were living together and relocated to Ampthill in Bedfordshire.
Candice's agent said at the time: "I can confirm Candice and Liam separated earlier this year."
