Comedian Jason Manford has signed up to be a judge on ITV's new 'Stars In Their Eyes' reboot 'Starstruck'

Jason Manford has signed up to be a judge on 'Starstruck'.

The comedian – who appeared as Hedgehog in 'The Masked Singer' – looks set to join Sheridan Smith, Adam Lambert and Beverley Knight on the panel of the 'Stars In Their Eyes' reboot.  

A TV insider said: "Jason is a fantastic addition to the panel and completes the Starstruck line-up, alongside fellow judges Sheridan Smith, Adam Lambert and Beverley Knight.

"He is hilarious and won’t hold back on his commentary about the acts giving it their all on stage.

"Jason knows all about the pressures of performing live, not only from his stand-up but from his stint on 'The Masked Singer' as Hedgehog."

Jason is keen to keen to have some fun on the panel with his fellow judges and the contestants on the ITV show.

The insider added to The Sun newspaper's Bizarre TV column: "He has told everyone he wants to have a laugh on the panel and will be trying his best to make sure his fellow judges and the acts are in stitches."

Filming for the new series – which is set to be hosted by former 'X Factor' presenter Olly Murs – is expected to start in the coming weeks.

Beverley was recently snapped up for the show after bosses were impressed with her "enthusiasm" for the series.

The source said: "Beverley is a huge signing for 'Starstruck' and everyone working on the show is so glad she’s taking part.

"There were a number of big music names on ITV’s wish list, including Little Mix's Jade Thirlwall, but after approaching Beverley they snapped her up after seeing her enthusiasm for the concept.

"She is not only a big-name singer but she’s a musical performer and has been in a number of big West End shows including 'The Bodyguard', 'Cats' and 'Memphis'.

"Her experience makes her ideal for judging members of the public who are transforming into their favourite stars."
