Robert Rinder has been left "in shock" after he was mugged by "three boys on bikes wearing balaclavas".
The 'Judge Rinder' star was attacked on London's Finchley Road last night (24.03.21) by a trio who "laughed" when he pleaded with them to drop his mobile phone.
He wrote on Twitter: "I’ve just had my phone grabbed out my hands by 3 boys wearing balaclavas on bikes (Finchley Road & Canfield gardens). They laughed as I shouted to drop it. Im in shock but am insured & privileged. Others are less lucky. (sic)"
Robert has offered a financial reward to anyone who can help find the muggers.
He tweeted: "Help me find these people & stop them (financial reward). (sic)"
Singer Beverley Knight replied: "I am so sorry Robert. I don’t care about privilege, nothing about what happened to you is ok. (sic)"
But the 42-year-old TV star clarified he meant he was "privileged" because he can afford to get his phone replaced.
He tweeted: "Hear that. The ‘privilege’ is knowing that I can sort this out and get it replaced. As you know, our phones are lifelines to friends & family (especially in lockdown). For thousands of other victims this means being cut off or losing a fortune. Thanks for your love. (sic)"
Beverley wrote: "You are right of course, and I appreciate what you say. I just cannot abide by a thief. I hope you are able to sort a replacement soon. Xx (sic)"
Channel 4 news presenter Krishnan Guru-Murthy also sent his well wishes to Robert, and admitted he had tried messaging him before remembering his phone had been stolen.
He wrote: "Main thing is you’re ok. Tried texting you but.....doh. Call if you need anything (sic)"
