The UK's first touring film and food festival combines open-air cinema, street food, comedy and short films
It's been a tough, largely indoors-based start to the year for many, but good times are hopefully on the horizon, with the summer months looking particularly promising. If you're keen to get some plans in the diary, Adventure Cinema have just announced a brand-new touring festival, dubbed Film & Food Fest 2021, which will be visiting 15 major city parks across the UK, spending four, fun-filled days in each location.
The festival has been designed to be socially spacious and fully compliant with government safety guidelines, while it looks like there's plenty to satisfy both adults and kids. There will be a significant focus on outdoor cinema, with screenings of both classics and recent releases; there's also stand-up comedy; unique street food vendors, curated by Street Food Warehouse; craft beers, cocktails, speciality gins and prosecco will be served at the bar; and a whole evening will be dedicated to specially-curated short film showcases from local creatives.
With the festival launching on 17 Jun and wrapping up on 26 Sep, the cities it will be visiting are: Cardiff, Newcastle, Leicester, Swansea, Nottingham, London (North and South), Huddersfield, Bristol, Liverpool, Bournemouth, Leeds, Wolverhampton, Northampton and Manchester.
Films vary between locations, but Onward, The Lion King, Jurassic Park, Jojo Rabbit, The Invisible Man, Grease, The Greatest Showman Singalong, Joker and Queen & Slim are amongst those lined up.
Adventure Cinema are offering a 100% money-back guarantee to ticket holders, should the events in question not go ahead. For more information and to book tickets, visit filmandfoodfest.com
