ITV bosses have reportedly decided to halt plans for a second series of the Thomas brothers' show 'Absolutely India: Mancs in Mumbai'

ITV are said to have shelved plans for a second series of the Thomas brothers' show 'Absolutely India: Mancs in Mumbai'.

The programme – which saw siblings Ryan, Adam and Scott Thomas on a once in a lifetime trip – is not expected to be back for another run due to the impact of the pandemic and "ever tightening budgets".

An insider told The Sun newspaper's Bizarre TV column: "It’s a shame for the lads as they seemed to go down well before, and ITV were keen for a second series.

“Discussions about what a second series would entail had taken place, and the plan was for them to go to South America and take their mum with them.

“Unfortunately, with COVID-19 and ever tightening budgets, a decision was made to put this one on ice for the foreseeable future."

However, it's said ITV bosses are still keen to work with the siblings again.

The source added: "They’re keen to work with all three boys in the future so are thinking what else they could do that doesn’t necessarily involve flying around the world.”

The initial six-part series saw former 'Coronation Street' star Ryan, ex-'Emmerdale' actor Adam and Love Island's Scott join their dad Dougie James on a trip exploring their Indian roots.

Sadly, he died after series one aired, and it's said his three sons were planning to take their mum Gail on her own trip and pay tribute to their late father.

Last summer, there were reports the second season would see the sibling trio head to South America and the Caribbean.

A source said at the time: "ITV were delighted with the success of the first series so are now planning another once lockdown is eased.

"The idea is to send the lads around South America, taking in the Caribbean, after it was revealed in the first part that they have family ties there."
