Former 'EastEnders' star Jacqueline Jossa has called for trolls to be made accountable, as she receives "absolutely vile" direct messages on a daily basis
Jacqueline Jossa receives "absolutely vile" messages from trolls on a daily basis.
The former 'EastEnders' actress has called for people who send abuse via social media to be held accountable for their actions, and suggested ID needs to be shown before anyone can be granted a profile.
Speaking on Instagram, she said: "Every single day without fail there will be someone in the DMs being absolutely vile to me, and there will be someone in the DMs being absolutely vile to every single person that's in the public eye, saying horrible things, getting into their brains.
"There should be something that's done about it. Even something as simple as showing a form of ID before you get a profile.
"We should all be held accountable for our actions. We shouldn't be able to make seven different accounts to abuse the same person, so something should be done about it."
Jacqueline also shared a DM conversation with a troll, who said she is "getting fat".
They wrote: "You getting fat (sic)"
She replied: "Oo really, you think? I think I've lost some weight... But you would know best babe. (sic)"
The troll added: "You sure you got a double chin. (sic)"
Jacqueline – who played Lauren Branning on the BBC One soap – posted: "In the picture above you think I have a double chin? Really.. Oo thanks. (sic)"
Last year, the former soap star revealed she tortured herself by searching "fat Lauren Branning" online on a daily basis during her time on 'EastEnders'.
She said: "They called me the new fat Lauren, there were Facebook groups and all sorts about.
"I was literally Googling my name every single day or writing 'Lauren Branning fat' or 'new Lauren Branning'.
"It was always negative and I would just be obsessed with reading forums and negative things about me."
