Fourteen shows are available to stream for a strictly limited run from today
Conceived in response to the challenges faced by venues and artists due to Covid-19, the online Shedinburgh Fringe Festival was a big hit in 2020, selling over 4,500 tickets to 25 events. It saw Fringe favourites of theatre, music and comedy perform live from two specially constructed sheds at the Traverse Theatre in Edinburgh and Soho Theatre in London, and from artists' own sheds, in acknowledgement and celebration of the Fringe's vital role in global culture.
Now the festival is back with Replay, a 'greatest huts' collection of fourteen shows, which will be available to stream worldwide via Ticketco from 7:30pm on Mon 22 Feb until Mon 22 Mar, for a minimum price of £4, with ticket sales limited. The internationally acclaimed White Rabbit, Red Rabbit, performed for the festival by Tobias Menzies (The Crown, Outlander) and written by Iranian playwright Nassim Soleimanpour, will only be available from Sun 14 to Mon 22 Mar. Proceeds from all ticket sales will go to the Shed Load of Future Fund, which supports new artists who want to bring their work to the Edinburgh Fringe.
Encore streams include theatre hits McGonagalls Chronicles by Gary McNair, Status by Chris Thorpe, Team Viking by James Rowland, and My Arm by Tim Crouch. The comedy sets of Deborah Frances White, Rosie Jones and Helen Bauer, Chloe Petts and Sophie Duker are also available, while there's poetry from Barber Shop Chronicles creator Inua Ellams and Sean Mahoney.
Following this reprisal, Shedinburgh will return in the summer of 2021 with a brand-new programme that's yet to be announced. For more information about Replay and to stay in the loop on Shedinburgh 2021, head to shedinburgh.com.
