Former 'EastEnders' actor Shaun Williamson would love to appear in 'Emmerdale' and thinks he has gained some vital experience for a stint in the Dales - by starring in 'Celebs on the Farm'
Shaun Williamson thinks he would be a hit on 'Emmerdale' after gaining valuable experience on 'Celebs on the Farm'.
The former 'EastEnders' actor has made no secret of his desire to join the ITV soap – which was previously called 'Emmerdale Farm' from 1972 to 1989 – but he now believes his time on the MTV show could stand him in good stead for a role in the Dales.
He said: "I love 'Coronation Street' and 'Emmerdale'. I've really got a soft spot for 'Emmerdale', I'd love to go up there.
"Occasionally they have a Cockney character through for a few months, so I'd love to be in 'Emmerdale' I think.
"And after my experience on a farm doing this show I reckon I could go in and give their farmers a run for their money. There you go.
"Cockney 50-something farmer suddenly decides to go to Emmerdale and take over!"
Shaun competed in a series of team and individual challenges as a celebrity farmhand on the programme, which was filmed last year, during which strict COVID-19 protocols and industry guidelines were adhered to throughout the production.
The former Barry Evans star previously admitted he would love to do a decade in the Dales or on the 'Corrie' cobbles, and insisted he would be "a bit more grateful" of soap work second time around.
When asked if he would consider joining either of the ITV soaps, he previously said: "I would. They’re excellent, they do comedy very well.
"I wouldn’t mind another 10 years in a soap. I think I’d be a bit more grateful this time around."
Brand new to MTV, 'Celebs on the Farm' premieres early next month.
