Former 'Emmerdale' star Ben Freeman has joined the cast of 'EastEnders'
Ben Freeman has joined the cast of 'EastEnders'.
The former 'Emmerdale' actor will star in the BBC One soap as Caleb, a mysterious associate of Chelsea Fox (Zaraah Abrahams).
'EastEnders' viewers recently found out that Chelsea's forgiveness for her serial killer father Lucas Johnson (Don Gilet) is only an act and she is determined to make him pay for his crimes.
Chelsea was the one who organised a recent beating on Lucas which left the murder battered and bruised.
Future episodes will see Chelsea meet up with Caleb, a blast from her past who will shine a light on what she has been up to in her absence from Albert Square.
Ben played scheming rogue Scott Windsor on 'Emmerdale' between 1998 and 2007 and famously had an affair with his stepsister Kelly Windsor (Adele Silva) and also fathered a child with Zoe Tate, who was played by late actress Leah Bracknell.
He has also had roles in the West End, including a part in 'The Rocky Horror Picture Show'.
Freeman's most recent role saw him play a police officer in 'Doctors'.
Zaraah made her debut in 'EastEnders' on Christmas Day (25.12.20) but revealed that she asked for it to be pushed back a day due to the "pressure" of being attached to being part of the soap's festive episode.
The former 'Waterloo Road' actress said: "I was honoured but also extremely frightened. I said I think we should do it the next day as I didn’t want to let anybody down [laughs].
"Everyone looks forward to 'EastEnders' on Christmas Day, it’s a lot of pressure!
"'EastEnders' has such loyal fans so I want them to be happy on Christmas Day."
