TV presenter Adrian Chiles is set to a show on BBC Radio 5 Live
Adrian Chiles is set to replace Emma Barnett on BBC Radio 5 Live on Thursday and Friday mornings.
The 53-year-old presenter – who previously hosted 'The One Show' and 'Daybreak' – has been handed the reins of the morning show, with Naga Munchetty hosting the same programme from Monday to Wednesday.
Heidi Dawson, the 5 Live controller, said: "Adrian is a wonderful broadcaster who our audience trust and respect.
"He has that unique ability to put listeners at ease and make them smile, whilst remaining relentless in his questioning of those in positions of power."
Adrian first joined the BBC station back in 1994 and has previously starred on shows such as 'Wake Up To Money' and '5 Live Drive'.
The BBC has also confirmed that with Adrian taking over the morning slot, his 'Question Time Extra Time' show will be replaced by a new programme hosted by Colin Murray.
Meanwhile, Adrian previously admitted that at one stage in his career, his phone simply "stopped ringing".
The TV star explained: "It wasn’t part of the plan.
"In my 30s and 40s, all the success came and the trappings came as well – not that I’ve lived an extravagant life – but yes, I had the money, I got well paid. Then suddenly it all went to pot."
'Daybreak' was axed after a year and Adrian also left his role as ITV Sport's main presenter.
The presenter recalled things changing very suddenly.
He shared: "It wasn’t my choice to stop. I lacked any control. You can keep putting yourself out there, but in all honesty, the phone just stopped ringing."
