Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford are turning their garage into a gym.
The couple – who were recently axed by 'This Morning' and replaced with Dermot O'Leary and Alison Hammond – are both eager to start off 2021 on the right track by getting fit and the first step is to set up a fitness area at home.
Ruth, 60, told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "A lot of fitness experts advocate weight or resistance training to give yourself tone, strengthen your core, posture and strengthen your bones, therefore staving off osteoporosis in older age. My vision is to get a weights bench in the garage and spend 30 mins every day on a joint routine."
Eamonn, 61, is keen to keep up his workouts after losing three stone since 2015.
He said: "I have shed 3st over five years. I genuinely believe in New Year’s resolutions. It’s a great time to take stock to repair your habits, to improve your life.
"We need to move briskly for 30 minutes, three times per week minimum."
And Ruth quipped that the workouts will bring them closer together.
Speaking to Eamonn during a joint interview for Best magazine: "You could lie on the bench and I could pass the dumbbell or bars to you and vice versa. It would be also good for our relationship, as we couldn’t fall out. Imagine if during my upset I was to accidentally drop something weighing 40kg on you."
