Mark Wright is set to have his professional football journey documented for a new BBC mini-series.
The 33-year-old reality TV star – who began his career on ‘The Only Way Is Essex’ – recently signed to the League Two side Crawley Town, after having previously played for the Tottenham Hotspur youth team when he was a teenager, as well as being on the fringe of the first team.
And after signing a deal to make his professional football dreams come true at Crawley Town, BBC Sport cameras have followed the star as he the fringe of the first team.
‘Mark Wright: The Last Chance’ will air on BBC iPlayer next month, and will see Mark fight for a regular team slot at Crawley, as well as the prospect of an FA Cup third appearance against Premier League side Leeds United – a game which is set to air on BBC One on January 10.
If Mark – who is married to actress Michelle Keegan – does manage to make it onto Crawley’s first team, he will also be facing off against his own brother, Josh Wright, who plays for League Two team Leyton Orient.
Steve Rudge, BBC Lead Executive, football, said: “Mark signing for Crawley Town is an interesting story and one the BBC wanted to get involved with to follow his commitment in making a dream come true in the professional game.”
As of the time of writing, no exact release date for the mini-series has been announced, but it will air some time next month.
