Bill Bailey and Oti Mabuse have won 'Strictly Come Dancing'
Bill Bailey and Oti Mabuse have won 'Strictly Come Dancing'.
The 55-year-old comedian and his professional dance partner were crowned winners of the BBC One Latin and ballroom show on Saturday night (19.12.20) during a spectacular finale.
Speaking about his win, he said: "It feels surreal. It feels extraordinary. It feels wonderful. I never thought I would get this far. I never thought I would get to the final. I had the most amazing teacher, the most extraordinary dancer. She believed in me from the beginning and she found something in me that turned me into this, into a dancer. Thank you Oti."
And Oti thanked Bill for being a "friend, brother and a father figure" to her.
She added: "I think you are amazing, remarkable. You just put your heart into everything, you put your soul into everything. You're in your world but I love your world. I always want to be a part of it. Thank you for being a friend, a father figure to me, a brother and for this."
Bill triumphed in the final of the show, beating the other finalists – HRVY and Janette Manrara, Jamie Laing and Karen Hauer and Maisie Smith and Gorka Marquez to the crown.
Elsewhere, Nicola Adams and Katya Jones – who had to bow out early in the competition after the dancer tested positive for coronavirus – returned for a triumphant final dance.
Dancing to 'I'm Feeling Good', the duo – who made history this year by being the first same sex couple on the programme – looked thrilled to get back out on the dance floor.
Robbie Williams also made an appearance on the show to sing his track, 'Time for Change', with four of the 'Strictly Come Dancing' professionals taking to the dance floor alongside him.
And the cast of 2020 returned during the final for one last dance together to remember the light of 'Strictly Come Dancing' in such a difficult and unusual year for all.
