Camilla, The Duchess of Cornwall is set to appear on the 'Strictly Come Dancing' finale with two pre-recorded video messages of support
The Duchess of Cornwall is set to appear on tonight's (19.12.20) 'Strictly Come Dancing' final.
Prince Charles' wife has recorded two pre-recorded messages of support for the grand finale on BBC One, and in one of them she reveals she has been voting every week.
As per The Sun, Camilla, 73, will “cheer the nation” amid the “bleak” Covid-19 pandemic.
Camilla won't share who her favourite contestant is, though, because she is "too polite", but it's been suggested that it could comedian Bill Bailey, 55.
A source told the tabloid: “Camilla’s team rang long before filming began and said she was a massive fan — and wanted to be on the show.
“They said she would be happy to do anything, so when they asked her to film a cameo for the final, she leapt at the chance.
“Camilla said her dream was always to appear on the series but royal protocol probably wouldn’t allow it.
“Instead she nailed a fabulous film in one take, and was brilliant.
“She thanked 'Strictly' for helping her get through the hell of 2020 and adding a bit of much-needed cheer.
“She votes every week and has been quite open to friends and family about who her favourite is.
“The Duchess declined to name him or her when asked on camera as she is far too polite.
“But behind the scenes, everyone was speculating it’s Bill Bailey as he’s a bit older and was the obvious underdog from the start — and everyone loves an underdog.”
Camilla, who is good friends with judge Craig Revel Horwood, previously visited the 'Strictly' studios in 2011.
Her appearance will follow her step-son Prince Harry video-calling his friend JJ Chalmers, who was eliminated in the quarter finals, on the programme.
Craig previously revealed that he'd love Camilla to join the show as a new judge.
He said in 2016: "When it comes to my dream new judge – well, it's got to be my friend the Duchess of Cornwall.
"I've been desperate to get a royal on the show. Camilla could be just wonderful."
Revealing she is a huge fan of 'Strictly', he added: "She loves the show. She absolutely adores it."
The 'Strictly' final kicks off at 6pm on BBC One – tune in to see if it will be Bill, Hrvy, Maisie Smith or Jamie Laing will take home the Glitterball Trophy.
