Jake Wood admits his time on 'EastEnders' has been a "life-changing" experience.
The 48-year-old actor has shared a behind-the-scenes video of his last day on the BBC One soap, as he says goodbye to playing Max Branning after 15 years.
Speaking in an Instagram video, Jake said: "It's a strange day for me, this – it's my last on set. It's my last day filming 'EastEnders' after 15 years playing Max Branning. I'll miss the place.
"It's the people really, for me. I met some amazing people, made some amazing friends and had an incredible, life-changing experience.
"Thank you to everyone for all your messages of support and love. I've really appreciated all of that. Who knows what the future brings, but today we say goodbye to Max Branning. It's a bit of a sad day but I wanted to share this with you."
In September, it was revealed that the soap star would be leaving 'EastEnders' in an explosive storyline.
Jake said at the time: "I've had 15 wonderful years at 'EastEnders' and have made some truly great friends. I'll, of course, miss everyone there but I'm grateful they have left the door open for Max and I'm excited to see what the next chapter holds."
Jon Sen, the show's executive producer, praised the actor's contribution to the soap's success.
He also teased Jake's dramatic exit from the BBC show, admitting he's "very excited to see [it] play out".
Jon reflected: "Jake is a truly wonderful actor and 'EastEnders' have been extremely lucky to have him for so long. We have a big storyline for Max that starts in the coming weeks and we are all very excited to see that play out."
