Jody Latham went to rehab for a week after drinking in lockdown due to worries over his business
Jody Latham entered rehab earlier this year because of her drinking habits in lockdown.
The 'Shameless' star began drinking more than usual during the coronavirus pandemic due to the stress of running his multi-million cosmetic company.
The 38-year-old actor decided to go to rehab but soon realised it wasn't the right fit for him, meaning he only stayed in the health facility for a week instead of a whole month.
Speaking on James English’s 'Anything Goes' podcast, Jody revealed: “I did a stint in rehab – I’ve never spoken about this publicly. It wasn’t for me – but I learned a lot from it.
"My substance abuse is minimal, I do drink sometimes, not every day and not a lot, but because I was going through anxiety and business worries, there was an opportunity to go and refresh. It was exhaustion as well.
"I took a week out, it was going to be a month, but I took a week.”
Jody – who rose to fame as Lip Gallagher on the Channel 4 show alongside Anne-Marie Duff and James McAvoy – also signed up to take part in an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting over video calls.
However, he thought he was being "intrusive" of other people who needed the meetings more than him.
He shared: "I looked at doing AA but it’s all on video, Zoom and all that, so it wasn’t really for me.
"Introducing me to it via Zoom seemed a bit futuristic for me. But when I got in there I realised people had far bigger issues that me and that made me feel a little uncomfortable.
"They were dealing with serious issues so I felt a bit intrusive on them. I felt rude being there, other people needed this more than I do."
