David Walliams has poked fun at Simon Cowell's bike accident in the 'Britain’s Got Talent' Christmas special
David Walliams jokes about Simon Cowell's back-breaking injury in the 'Britain’s Got Talent' Christmas special.
The 49-year-old comedian has poked fun at Simon, 61 – who broke his back after falling off his electric bike in August – in the ITV show's first-ever Christmas special.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "Thankfully Simon is very good at laughing at himself as he’s had the worst year.
"Breaking your back in three places is not much fun at all. David is never one to miss a comedy trick. But he clearly misses Simon."
During the upcoming special, David will perform a routine in which a puppet of Simon crashes a mini bike off the stage.
The comedy star – who serves as a judge on 'Britain's Got Talent' – will actually fly onto the stage clutching the Simon puppet while dressed as a snowman.
David will say, "Little Simon, be careful on your electric bike" – before putting Simon on a bike and watching it fall off the stage.
'BGT' judge Amanda Holden recently revealed Simon sounds like he's "on top of the world" and will return to 'Britain's Got Talent' in 2021.
The 49-year-old TV star can't wait to be reunited with Simon in January, saying the music mogul is in "an amazing space" at the moment.
Amanda – who has been a judge on the show since 2007 – said: "I spoke to him on the phone about four weeks ago now and he sounds on top of the world.
"He's back in an amazing space, apparently he looks fantastic as well, and he is definitely back for the new series which we're filming in January, so it's pretty imminent."
