Former 'Love Island' star Megan Barton-Hanson is surprised people let their kids watch her get up close and personal to someone on the ITV2 dating show, but they object to her telling young women to "explore themselves" before having sex
Megan Barton-Hanson is shocked when parents object to her encouraging young women to "explore themselves" before having sex, but they aren't worried about their youngsters watching her on 'Love Island'.
The reality star shot to fame on the 2018 series of the ITV2 dating show, and she has been open about believing women should find out what they enjoy before they go into full-blown bedroom fun with a partner, but she is surprised when parents don't want their child being told that, but they don't mind them seeing her getting jiggy with it on the programme.
She said: "What blew my mind is parents are fine to let their kid watch me go in a Hideaway with someone I've known for a couple of weeks or days, but they're not OK for me to say, 'As a woman, before you start having sex with other people just explore yourself and what you like.'
Megan admitted she was "confused" when she first had sex, but soon took matters into her own hands.
Speaking to Lily Allen on her podcast 'You Come First with Megan Barton-Hanson', she added: "From my first or second boyfriend when I had sex I was like, 'This isn't really doing it for me.'
"I remember being confused. The first time I had sex I was like, 'Why is everyone screaming and loving it? This isn't really doing anything for me.'
"From then I just took matters into my own hands and was like, 'OK, this is how it feels good – because I'm getting involved now.' "
