Former 'Celebrity Big Brother' winner Rylan Clark-Neal received £100,000 for his triumphant stint in the reality TV house
Rylan Clark-Neal was paid £100,000 for 'Celebrity Big Brother'.
The 32-year-old star – who won the reality show in 2013 after appearing on 'The X Factor' the previous year – has finally revealed the huge payday he collected for his triumphant series.
Appearing on Louis Theroux's 'Grounded' podcast, he said: "I got £100,000 to be in 'Big Brother'. So to me, I'd won the lottery.
"I've never said that. I think that is the first time I've ever said how much I got paid to go on 'Big Brother'.
"But when you realise how much money there is in television and what other people get paid to do the same experience or less than you, it's quite shocking sometimes. "
However, Rylan – who went onto host the show's 'Big On The Side' spin-off – insisted many stars earned much more shorter stints on the programme.
He added: "I've known very big payments for people to go into that house. I mean some people have been paid half a million pounds and got evicted first, put it that way."
Since winning 'CBB', he has gone onto become a huge TV star, and currently hosts the likes of 'Strictly: It Takes Two', 'Supermarket Sweep', 'Ready Steady Cook' and his own BBC Radio 2 show.
Rylan recently admitted he wants to step back a bit in the future, although he pointed out his workload isn't as intense as it seems.
He said: "I don't want to be like chlamydia. I don't want to be all over the f****** shop and everywhere, that's definitely not what I want...
"I would like just to have my couple of bits to see me through the year all spaced out and that's that. But in the last two years the jobs I've done have all been announced around the same time.
"In my nice little world I could have 'Supermarket Sweep' and 'Ready Steady Cook'. They're at different times of the year. I like things that marry up, and 'Sweep' sort of works with 'Ready Steady Cook' because I've got my supermarket and then I've got my kitchen."
