Janette Manrara still gets butterflies when she sees her husband in the Aljaz Skorjanec studio while she is in a 'Strictly Come Dancing' Covid bubble
Janette Manrara is missing her husband Aljaz Skorjanec while in her ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ Covid bubble.
The 36-year-old professional dancer – who married Aljaz in 2017 – is not allowed to come into contact with her fellow ‘Strictly’ professional to help stop the spread of coronavirus, and she has found it tough not to hug her significant other when she sees him in the studio.
She told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre TV column: “I do see him around the studio. The hardest bit is when I do see him, my instinct is to run and hug him, but, of course, I can’t touch him.
"We’ve been together ten years almost, so it’s a good thing those butterflies are still there. But it’s so frustrating I can’t do anything with those butterflies.”
Instead, the dancers have spent their evenings on the phone to each other to keep their romance alive.
She said: “Thank God for FaceTime. I put the phone up on the side of the bed and we just chat while I give my legs a rub – because they are sore from the jive.”
It comes after the stars made their debut on Saturday (24.10.20), during which Janette and her celebrity partner HRVY topped the leaderboard with their eye-catching jive routine, scoring 25 out of 30.
Despite missing her husband, Janette is determined to keep her head in the game as she is putting all her attention on her dance partner in the hope they can take home this year’s Glitterball trophy.
She added: “I absolutely adore HRVY and I’m just having the best time with him. He’s my main man right now, he’s my focus.”
However, HRVY believes the competition is between him and ‘EastEnders’ star Maisie Smith.
He said: “She looks very good. Me and her are going to have a little rivalry I think.”
