Bill Oddie nearly died after battling "lithium toxicity" during the coronavirus crisis.

The 79-year-old TV star has taken to Twitter to reveal the extent of his health woes over recent months, admitting he's been close to death over the summer.

Bill's post prompted a huge response from his fans online, including radio DJ Danny Baker.

He replied: "All the best, Bill. I hope your confusion gets no worse than forgetting a few solos on Little Feat albums and so hear them again for the first time. (sic)"

Bill previously tweeted on June 22, when he admitted he was struggling to use a keyboard.

However, at the time, he didn't mention anything about his general health situation.
