Edinburgh Summer Sessions announces rescheduled shows for 2021

Tom Jones, Michael Kiwanuka, Lionel Richie, Travis and Simple Minds confirmed to perform at Princes Street Gardens next year

Edinburgh Summer Sessions has announced rescheduled dates in 2021 for its programme of concerts at Princes Street Gardens. The festival will return to the iconic setting underneath Edinburgh Castle for its third year next August after being cancelled this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Tickets for the rescheduled dates are available now.

Showman Tom Jones, crooner Lionel Richie, Mercury Prize and Brit Award nominee Michael Kiwanuka, as well as Scottish legends Travis and Simple Minds are all confirmed to play the festival in August 2021. Missing from the new line-up is The 1975 and McFly, who have cancelled their appearances at the festival. Original tickets for Edinburgh Summer Sessions remain valid for for new dates where refunds have not been issued.

Tom Jones returns to perform at his second Summer Sessions on Sun 8 Aug (sold out) and Tue 10 Aug. Fans can expect a showcase of hits from his illustrious career including classic hits 'It's Not Unusual', 'What's New Pussycat' and 'She's a Lady'. From one music legend to another, Lionel Richie headlines on Wed 11 Aug for what will be his first Edinburgh gig in six years.

London-born singer-songwriter Michael Kiwanuka has had a trailblazing couple of years and fans can expect to hear hits from his broadly acclaimed self-titled third album and old hits like 'Home Again' when he performs on Mon 9 Aug.

Led by Fran Healy, Travis will treat fans to their hits including 'Why Does it Always Rain on Me?' and 'Turn' in their Summer Sessions debut on Fri 13 Aug. Fellow Scottish mainstay act Simple Minds will close out the festival on Sun 15 Aug with hits from their 40-year career.
