What the Pets of The List have been doing during quarantine
Uma making an important journey
Including yoga, sunbathing and generally causing chaos
Quarantine life isn't for everyone but for our pets, it's a whole new world. We asked staff and friends of The List what their new colleagues had been getting up to during this period of lockdown.
Peanut enjoyed the good weather at the start of the week by doing some yoga on the front lawn. As you can see, he's got all the moves down to a tee (although he's not very keen on the downward-facing dog … ). He puts me to shame. So much so that I'm going to start online yoga with a locally-based teacher.
Beanie's a four month old Sphynx and is happiest when she ignores all sense of personal space and attaches to you like a limpet, so lockdown life is suiting her perfectly. She's only a baby so this week she's discovered she loves climbing up the cat tree, but is too frightened to try and get back down.
Nancy and Philippe have tried to stay busy during these challenging times, fucking things up as much as possible. They've smashed glasses, bitten toes, walked on keyboards, presented unsolicited anuses to colleagues on Zoom, and switched various devices on and off with their bottoms. Nancy threw up on a book that's being reviewed, and both have fallen in the bath several times. It's all about staying connected, they say.
Uma has been trying to post herself somewhere but we're not sure where yet.
Thomas doesn't mind the quarantine. He is a steadfast co-worker, showing his solidarity by napping for 8-hours straight right beside my desk.
Begbie's taking this lockdown thing really seriously. In between hiding in my backpack and napping under duvets, he's also managed to start stockpiling mice and leaving them out as presents for us to find …
Eddie has been enjoying lying down in the sun beams in the house and slowly moving with the sun as it makes its way across the kitchen floor. He's really enjoying having people around all day now. In the afternoon when the sun is gone from the kitchen floor, he joins his owner in the home office and sleeps there.
