Final headliners announced for Doune the Rabbit Hole 2020

Final headliners announced for Doune the Rabbit Hole Festival 2020

Public Enemy

The hugely popular Scottish music and arts festival welcomes Public Enemy, Kate Tempest, John Cale and Bill Bailey

The highly acclaimed Doune the Rabbit Hole Festival has announced the final acts for its 2020 edition: the likes of Public Enemy, Kate Tempest, John Cale and Bill Bailey will join the existing line-up. Named one of the best small family festivals by The Guardian, the art and music extravaganza runs from Fri 17 to Sun 19 July at the Cardross Estate in Stirlingshire.

Groundbreaking US hip hop group Public Enemy headline on Friday, with Chuck D, Jahi, DJ Lord and S1W making appearances. The band celebrate the 30th anniversary of their third album, Fear of a Black Planet, minus recently evicted member Flavor Flav, so expect their trademark deep, rebellious, and critical lyrics as well as genre-forming tunes. While they ignite the festival on the opening night, it is award-winning poet, rapper and novelist Kate Tempest who will ensure that the Sunday evening is unforgettable. Having just released her new single 'Unholy Elixir' in January, Tempest will be heading to London's National Theatre later in June with her new play Paradise. This will be the only chance for festival fans to see both headliners in Scotland this summer so make sure you don't miss out!

As festival director Jamie Murray says: 'Our aim has been to create the most ambitious and progressive festival line-up in Scotland and enable more music fans than ever to attend Doune the Rabbit Hole. We think we're pretty close to that as we announce our final headliners; Kate Tempest and Public Enemy (Radio). They join Belle & Sebastian alongside international acts including Russian activist collective Pussy Riot. The legendary John Cale will also appear alongside tuneful comedian Bill Bailey of Black Books fame, with politicised reggae from The Skints, and C-86 style indie pop from London's Girl Ray amongst many others.'

To celebrate the Scottish music scene, the line-up also includes an impressive national list of performers. Previous Scottish Album of the Year Award winners Sacred Paws are joined by artists like Honeyblood, BIS, Rachel Sermanni and Stanley Odd. Trad and folk is also well represented with Tidelines, Elephant Sessions, The Bluebells and Peat & Diesel on the bill.

The family and dog friendly Doune the Rabbit Hole Festival is not only a great way to immerse yourself in various music acts or explore new bands and artists but it also gives you the opportunity to see numerous pop-up performances, participate in exciting workshops, treat your body and mind with relaxing yoga sessions and discover the flavours of Scotland.
