The best original content coming to Disney+ UK

The Mandalorian

The Disney streaming service is finally crossing the pond to the UK this March, and there is plenty of exclusive content to catch up on

It's been a long few months since the US release, but Disney's streaming home for movies and shows from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, National Geographic and more is coming to the UK on Tue 24 Mar. Alongside the entertainment behemoth's impressive backlog of content, Disney+ will also host a growing variety of originals, from films to series and animated shorts.

You can, of course, start by reliving some of your favourite classics, but perhaps the service's best selling point will be the Disney+ Originals. At launch, Disney+ will feature 25 exclusives, so we have selected the ones we are most looking forward to to get you started.

The Mandalorian
Who hasn't heard of the series featuring a Mandalorian warrior trying to make a living after the fall of the Empire? Jon Favreau's creation has proved to be a hit amongst Star Wars fans already, and the geographical expansion of the Disney+ service means only one thing: more and more people will fall in love with 'The Child' (his official name, but you perhaps know him best as 'Baby Yoda').

The World According to Jeff Goldblum
Want a break from everyday life drama? Who better to follow on a quest searching for the connections that make ordinary things such as sneakers and ice-cream extraordinary than Jeff Goldblum? The American actor's quirky and entertaining demeanour will surely shed new light onto things we formerly believed we knew everything about.

High School Musical: The Musical: The Series
The title might not roll off the tongue, but the generation looking forward to more High School Musical-related content will surely not mind. Set at the school where the original film was shot, this ten-episode scripted series borrows docu-series elements to follow the school's hopefuls as they audition for East High's first production of High School Musical: The Musical. Say it with us: What team? Wildcats!

Forky Asks a Question
Toy Story 4's breakout star searches for answers to life's most important questions, such as 'what is love?', and not so important, like 'what is cheese?', in this collection of ten shorts. Disney and Pixar's most lovable craft project (who is definitely not trash) will be joined by other familiar faces of the franchise in his quest for answers.

The Imagineering Story
If you are a fan of Disney's theme parks, then you cannot miss The Imagineering Story. This six-hour saga by Academy Award nominated director Leslie Iwerks follows the people with one of the most difficult tasks on Earth: creating happiness. Learn more about the people that have brought Disney's theme parks to life all over the world and the long history of Walt Disney Imagineering.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars
The Skywalker saga might be over, but that universe far, far away still has plenty of stories to tell. Bringing a long awaited conclusion to the critically-acclaimed animated series, the twelve all-new episodes by Dave Filoni, director and executive producer of The Mandalorian, will explore the events leading up to Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith.

Marvel's Hero Project
We all like a good superhero story, but searching for them on the big screen can leave us unaware of the heroes walking amongst us. Marvel's Hero Project, produced by Marvel New Media in partnership with MaggieVision Productions, aims to shine a light on and celebrate several young heroes who are making a positive change in their communities.

Lady and the Tramp
Don't want to compromise between shiny new content and your old favourites? Well, look no further than this live-action remake of the 1955 classic, where a pampered house dog and a stray rascal embark on an adventure and find love. You can even give that spaghetti moment a go, in the comfort of your own home.

Disney+ launches in the UK on Tue 24 Mar at £5.99/month or £59.99/year. As a pre-launch offer, eager fans can take advantage of a yearly subscription for only £49.99 (valid until Mon 23 Mar only). Find out more at
