Parka - live review

Being proved wrong can sometimes be a good thing and Parka certainly are a band that succeeded there. When I first heard their debut single ‘Disco Dancer’ I thought they sounded like a young generic indie band with much the same sound as The View. Catching them live changed my mind. They played with boundless energy which poured form their dancy indie beats. Their songs were bursting at the seams with keyboards, guitar, drums and extra percussion, saxophone and furious vocals. Singer, Matt Thompson performed as though his whole body was buzzing with electricity, his charming persona and the look of sheer joy at playing made Parka an instantly likeable live band.
