The Creative Entrepreneurs' Club chases away the winter blues with first annual Festivus for the Rest of Us

The festive event aims to bring together freelancers, sole traders, portfolio careerists and self-employed people to celebrate Christmas and network
December is the time of Christmas dinners, Secret Santa exchanges, and taking advantage of every excuse available to enjoy the festive season (perhaps with a mulled wine or two). However, whilst most workplaces will engage in these social activities, in an effort to team-build and network, there are some spheres of the working world that, more often than not, miss out on these opportunities.
For freelancers, self-employed workers, portfolio careerists and sole traders, Christmas can very much end up like every other time of year. Regularly swamped with work, missing holiday bonuses or pay and very few client invitations coming through their inboxes, the festive season can turn into a lonely and stressful affair for this sector of workers.
Luckily, The Creative Entrepreneurs' Club has got them covered this year. The debut Festivus for the Rest of Us event takes place Tue 10 Dec at A'Challtainn, and it aims to bring some holiday cheer into these Scottish workers' day. Bringing together people from independent endeavours to celebrate all the successes they've had throughout the year, Festivus for the Rest of Us is uniting like-minded people in a (tax-deductible) networking opportunity, alongside a delicious two-course lunch, Secret Santa gift-giving, and even a cheeky meeting with the man in red himself.
Alongside the food and the festive-themed activities, attending businesspeople can also be in with a chance of winning business-related prizes, such as professional photoshoots, or even bottles of spirits, for those deadline-chasing days.
Medeia Cohan, Co-Founder of Creative Entrepreneurs' Club, said of the event: 'We've decided to launch the Creative Entrepreneurs' Club with this event because it epitomises what we're all about as an organisation. It's about bringing the creative community (all genders) together to be larger than the sum of our parts, celebrating our amazing accomplishments as a sector, connecting all of us and networking for opportunities to work together and giving our community what they want and need most.'
