Simple Minds announce UK arena tour for 2020, find out how to get tickets

Scottish rock band set to perform in Cardiff, Bournemouth, London, Leeds and more

Simple Minds have announced they will perform ann all new 40 Years of Hits show across seven UK shows, including a night at The SSE Arena in Wembley, London in April 2020. Tickets for the show are available at 9am on Fri 4 Oct.

Simple Minds are due to release their album Live in the City of Angels on Fri 4 Oct. The record will be their eighth live album since forming in 1977. The five-piece, who hail from Glasgow, released their 18th studio album Walk Between Worlds in 2018. The record was supported with a joint headline tour with fellow Scots The Proclaimers and KT Tunstall as the support act. In line with the latest greatest hits tour the band reveal news of a new compilation, 40: THE BEST OF – 1979-2019, and new single 'For One Night Only'. The record is available for pre-order now.

Simple Minds have penned a fair few hits in their time such as 1985 song 'Don't You (Forget About Me)', which featured on the soundtrack of The Breakfast Club. Other hits include 'Alive and Kicking' and No.1 hit 'Belfast Child', among a long list of others.

The band has been nominated for a variety of awards including an MTV VMA and two Brits. They bagged two Q awards including Best Live Act in 1991 and remain notorious for their energetic live shows. In 2016, Simple Minds received the Ivor Novello Award for Outstanding Song Collection which continues to grow year on year.
