Ben Elton's Shakespearian sitcom returns with David Mitchell reviving his role as Will

A new production of Upstart Crow is set to run at the Gielgud Theatre in London's West End from Fri 7 Feb–Sat 25 Apr 2020. Presale tickets for the show are available today ahead of general sale at 10am on Fri 27 Sep.

Upstart Crow is the BBC sitcom created by British comedian, author and playwright Ben Elton. The series, which began in 2016 stars fellow comic David Mitchell who will revive his role as Will Shakespeare for its West End debut. The show also stars Gemma Whelan as Kate and direction comes from Sean Foley.

The series marked the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare's death, stories by whom are central to the show. Across three seasons the show has aired 30 episodes all taking on the various narratives penned by Shakespeare to comedic effect. Now Upstart Crow has been adapted for the West End where it will run in 2020 for a strictly limited season.
