Timeless musical to run at the venue from Thursday 19 September to Saturday 28 September
The sensational feel-good musical Mamma Mia! is celebrating 20 years with an international tour throughout 2019/2020. The celebratory run opens at the Edinburgh Playhouse on Thu 19 Sep, where it will run until Sat 28 Sep. Tickets for all shows are available now.
From the West End to global phenomenon, Mamma Mia! is Judy Craymer's ingenious staging of the storytelling magic of ABBA's timeless songs, such as 'Honey Honey', 'Money Money Money' and 'Dancing Queen', alongside a sunny, funny tale of a mother, a daughter and three possible dads unfolding on a Greek island.
To date, the musical has been seen by over 65 million people in 50 productions and 16 different languages across the world. It became the eighth longest-running show in Broadway history, playing for a record-breaking run of 14 years. The show continues to thrill audiences in London's West End at the Novello Theatre, where it celebrated its twentieth anniversary last April.
The tour's cast includes Sharon Sexton as Donna Sheridan, Nicky Swift and Helen Anker as Rosie and Tanya, with Rob Fowler as Sam Carmichael, Daniel Crowder as Harry Bright, Jamie Kenna as Bill Austin, Emma Mullen as Sophie Sheridan and Toby Miles as Sky.
They are joined by Marie Finlayson as Ali, Mariella Mazzilli as Lisa, James Willoughby Moore as Pepper, Eamonn Cox as Eddie and Matthew Ronchetti as Father Alexander.
The production will tour the UK throughout 2019/2020, kicking things off at Edinburgh Playhouse before dates in Glasgow, Liverpool and Bristol.
