Clap Your Hands Say Yeah - album review
Clap Your Hands Say Yeah
Some Loud Thunder (Wichita)
To follow up one of 2006’s albums of the year is a hard task, so for this US quintet to do it so quickly and effectively is pretty remarkable. Clap Your Hands Say Yeah’s second effort was recorded in ten months, between international festivals and headline shows, and contains some of their finest work to date; a rough and ready collection of everything from demonic electro to gritty post rock, shimmering indie and stripped down acoustic ballads.
It’s a darker and more eclectic offering than their debut which proves this band are not afraid to experiment with their trademark melancholy vocals and eerie atmospherics. A bold and quite brilliant step which bodes very well for their future . . .
