Seminal album to be played in full in London and Liverpool this November
The Lightning Seeds have announced they will reissue their seminal album Jollification, due for release in September. To support the re-release the band will play the record in its entirety at the Liverpool Philharmonic Hall and the London Palladium in November. Tickets go on sale at 9am on Fri 10 May.
The 1994 record originally sold 900,000 copies upon release and features well-known hits 'Lucky You', 'Marvellous', 'Change' and 'Perfect'. The Liverpudlian outfit have promised fans will hear the record like never before, with the atmosphere and instrumentation of the original album very much at the fore of the shows.
The record is to be remastered and released with a limited edition strawberry red (and strawberry scented!) coloured vinyl, both of which will include a bonus 7" with two rare b-sides: 'Perfect' (acoustic version) and 'Lucifer Sam'. There will also be a digital release.
On Thu 7 Nov the band – made up of Ian Broudie, Martyn Campbell, Riley Broudie, Abi Harding and Jim Sharrock – will perform at the London Palladium, before playing a hometown gig at the Liverpool Philharmonic Hall on Wed 27 Nov. This special anniversary set will also feature the band's greatest hits like Pure', 'Life of Riley', 'Sugar Coated Iceberg' and many of the other stand-out tracks from their career.
Speaking of the news lead Broudie said: 'I'm thrilled that Jollification is being reissued on vinyl to celebrate its 25th anniversary It evokes some great memories of that time for me. It's brilliant to have the opportunity to celebrate the occasion with two very special nights at two iconic venues'.
