Ball reprises his Olivier Award-winning role as Edna Turnblad in April 2020
The huge-hearted, smash-hit musical Hairspray is returning to London's West End for a very limited 12-week run in April 2020. Tickets for all shows are on sale now.
The musical returns with Michael Ball front and center as he reprises his Olivier Award-winning role as Edna Turnblad. Alongside Ball, the original award-winning creative team consisting of director Jack O'Brien and choreographer Jerry Mitchell return to the production at the London Coliseum.
Hairspray details the story of Tracy Turnblad in 1960's Baltimore. Turnblad is a larger than life character with big dreams and big hair. She hopes to make it on the local TV dance show, win the heart of teen heartthrob Link Larkin and bring everyone together – whatever their colour, size or hairdo.
The quintessential feelgood show, Hairspray features infectiously feel-good hits 'Good Morning Baltimore', 'You Can't Stop the Beat' and 'Big, Blonde and Beautiful' The show toured the UK in 2017/2018 and returns to the capital next spring.
