Band bring new music to the capital following nine year hiatus
Popular post-hardcore band Alexisonfire are back following a nine year musical hiatus. The five-piece, who hail from Canada released new track 'Familiar Drugs' earlier this week and announced a short tour during which they will swing by London's Alexandra Palace on Sat 1 Jun. Tickets for the show are available from 10am on Fri 22 Feb.
The band found fame at the height of the emo era – or, in calendarial terms, early 00s – with their self-titled debut album. Subsequent studio albums, 2004's Watch Out!, 2006's Crisis and 2009's Old Crows / Young Cardinals were hugely successful achieving platinum status.
The single marks the band's first release since 2009 and though no news of an album has been confirmed by the group, it is surely on its way.
Speaking of the band's future Vocalist George Pettit said 'Alexisonfire is better now than we ever were – both live and in the studio. We're excited to explore creatively at the helm of a band which at the same time feels very nostalgic and very current. Looking forward to whatever happens next.'
