The story of an iconic and inspirational music icon brought to life on stage
Since premiering in London earlier this year, the new musical based on the life of Tina Turner has been a huge success. The show, which was originally set to run at London's Aldwych Theatre for a limited time has extended its run into 2019. Matinee and evening performances are available up until July 2019 and tickets are on sale now.
The hit musical details the incredible story of the iconic performer, who, from humble Tennessee beginnings, became one of the biggest stars the world has seen. Tina Turner rose to prominence alongside her then husband Ike Turner, singing on timeless classics 'River Deep Mountain High', 'A Fool In Love' and 'Proud Mary'.
Following on from this her solo musical career went from strength, and Turner, with tracks like 'What's Love Got To Do With It', 'Simply The Best' and 'We Don't Need Another Hero (Thunderdome)' has sold more than 180 million records worldwide.
The musical is written by Olivier Award-winning playwright Katori Hall alongside internationally acclaimed director Frank Ketelaar and Kees Prins based on the life of a woman who didn't just break the rules, but rewrote them. This new stage musical reveals the untold story of a woman who dared to defy the bounds of her age, gender and race, featuring the much loved songs for her career.
